MegaPixel Technology
The primary benefit of using high-resolution cameras is that the stored images are more revealing and provide stronger evidence than other formats. MOBOTIX cameras record approximately 30 times more detail than 95% of all existing video systems worldwide. In virtually all applications, one MOBOTIX camera can replace several standard CCTV systems because MOBOTIX technology offers four times more coverage. For example, at the World Cup soccer stadium in Kaiserslautern, a single MOBOTIX camera monitors four turnstiles at the same time. Even an entire room can be monitored with one 90° wide-angle lens camera positioned in a corner of a room. The high-detail resolution not only means fewer cameras, but it also reduces the amount of cabling, backup-power requirement and storage systems, thus minimizing the overall costs of the system substantially.

Decentralized Recording
With Mobotix cameras all the Network Video Recorder (NVR) functions are built into the camera processor itself, with the advantage being that all you need is a storage device (whether and SD Card in the cameras or a NAS devie on the network) to record video. This technology allows for the deployment of a decentralized system, where all the video processing, alarm monitoring and recording can be don inside the camera, thus significantly lowering the network load and eliminating the need for a centralized server to process, and store images. In addition, all Mobotix cameras include a free Video Monitoring Software, MxContronCenter that allows for centralized monitoring and control of all cameras on the network. At the same time, if the end-user has the desire to deploy their system in a traditional centralized approach, the cameras can still be used in this fashion. This mode still taking advantage of having each camera mange their own storage space on the central recorder (NAS, SAN, Server, etc.) thus eliminating the need for the processing power required to centrally manage this operation. The versatility of the Mobotix platform and it's inherent value is unmatched in the industry.

Highly Reliable
The robust fiberglass-reinforced housing, broad operating temperature range of –30 to +60 °C (-22 to +140 °F) and absence of fans, heating or moving parts are key to the high reliability of MOBOTIX cameras. To date, more than 100,000 cameras have been installed worldwide in all environmental conditions, from the Antarctic to the deserts of Saudi Arabia to the tropical Everglades in Florida.
